Ahoy! Three new spiced rum cocktail recipes

Captain Morgan

Captain Morgan

Hoist the sails and hit the deck for some serious depth of flavour in our rum picks. They’re sure to go down well with sailors, swashbuckling adventurers and connoisseurs alike.

Spiced rums have seen a massive surge of popularity in local bars recently. Captain Morgan and Sailor Jerry are two of the more infamous names on the wanted lists.

Sailor Jerry has a distinctive first impression of vanilla which then hoists the curtains of a three-ring circus of spices which dazzle the palate. It’s an ideal base for cocktails, or served with fresh lime and dry ginger ale. Captain Morgan is a rich golden rum from Jamaica enriched with spices, and an oaky flavour complimented with sweet sugarcane making it enjoyable with cola.

Tijuana Jerry

Tijuana might be on the other side of the North American continent from rum’s homeland in the Carribean, but it’s been visited by enough sailors to bring together two famous exports – rum and tequila!

½ part agave nectar
